My name is Rachel Robyn Wagner and I’m annoyed as hell. As an actress and filmmaker (who doesn’t look like Gwyneth Paltrow) I’ve struggled immensely to find my place in an industry that doesn’t seem to want me. Over the last few years “diversity” has become a buzzword. Although I love all the progress the film industry has made, there’s still so much more to do. I’m the next generation of filmmakers that plan on changing stereotypes one film at a time.

I’m currently working on a project that is set to start crowdfunding within the next week. I’d love to see if there was any possibility to getting on the show and talking about the goals of this production. The over-saturation of “Hollywood diversity” has really put a blinder on us as content consumers and content creators.

What I mean by “Hollywood Diversity” is showing skin color, but not culture, it’s creating a movie about being a woman from the POV of a man, it’s about having entire film cast with able bodied actors and never featuring anyone with a disability. It’s simply not enough.

I’m 23, I’m a writer, a filmmaker and an actress, but above all, I’m an advocate through my art. I’d love to talk about how much using an artistic platform as a way to combat societal issues can help us all in the long run.

I’ve attached the pitch deck for my film in this Google Drive link:

I hope this gives you a better understanding of my work and my film!
