Look At My Records!
Hosted by Tom Gallo. Look At My Records Live! is a freeform radio program that showcases an eclectic variety of music both old and new, with a strong emphasis on the local music scene. Host Tom Gallo conducts candid interviews with area bands and asks them to curate a playlist from his very own record collection. What typically results is an in depth conversation that unveils influences, past experiences, plenty of nostalgia, and even the occasional mutual fawning. You can also catch the occasional live in studio performance and hear special recorded performances from “The McKenzie Tapes” vault, which contains a plethora of live performance at various NYC venues over the course of the last 40 years.

    Tom had a wonderful time hanging out with Palberta for the February 23rd edition of Look At My Records! Tune in to hear all about this awesome trio, including how they constantly switch instruments, and some talk about their most recent release, "Roach Goin' Down." You'll also be serenaded by their renditions of some Neil Young classics from "After The Gold Rush!" This episode also features new tunes from Sharkmuffin, Dan Francia, Ghost King and Patio.   • February 16th, 2019: Russian Baths

    The February 16th edition of Look At My Records! is the first in series of episodes previewing the upcoming New Colossus Festival. This episode features the Brooklyn noise-rock duo, Russian Baths! The band released their excellent EP, “Penance” last year and are slated to play The Bowery Electric on March 9th as part of the New Colossus Festival. We chatted all about the evolution of their sound, which progressed from wanting to sound like Yo La Tengo to kind of sounding like a shoegaze/Big Black hybrid. The band is heading to SXSW next month and have plans to release a full length in 2019, so keep your eye on this duo!     Check out the February 2nd edition of Look At My Records, which features an interview and live performance from Emile and Lincoln of Plastic Picnic! This foursome relocated from the Pacific Northwest in 2016 and immediately made a splash with their critically acclaimed 80s inspired synth-heavy sound. Tom's favorite Beijing scencester/college buddy Will Griffith of Live Beijing Music recently returned to NYC with a flash drive of his favorite Beijing releases of 2018. Tom scoured the flash drive and curated a playlist of some of his favorite finds.
